HOPE'S PAGE

Hi!  We have not updated this page in forever!  My niece Hope and brother Eric are doing great and are still in San Diego (address below).  Here is a recent picture of them!   We moved to Monterey in June '07 and miss them everyday.  We do manage to get to SD to visit quite often.  Hope is still riding and is now swimming AND doing gymnastics several times a week.  She just finished Kindergarten!  WOW!  Eric is flying with VMFAT 101, riding his Mountain Bike and writing and singing (http://cdbaby.com/cd/ericburton )I highly recommend his album, SHORT SET.  I hope to get more pics up here soon!

Hi Everyone,

Here's an overdue update on Hope!

She's doing great!  She continues to develop and surprise us every day.  She loves to run, dance, sing, and talk.  She is very aware of her environment and communicates very well.  She is a happy and sweet little girl.

School has been really good for her.  Her teachers are excellent and give me constant feedback on her development.  She no longer qualifies for their occupational therapy and I am now working with Children's Hospital to get a more advanced level of help.  She recently was tested on 24 body parts and got 17 correct!

Hope has a new nanny whom she adores.  Her name in Erin and she has been baby sitting for Audrey for 2 years.  She is a Ramona native and lives in my guest house.  She also works as an aide in Hope's class room.

Our after school schedule is completely packed.  Hope goes to swimming lessons twice a week.  She loves to go "under water" and blow bubbles.  She is also involved in a therapeutic horseback riding program.  It has been fun to watch her make steady progress with the horses.  Her balance and confidence get better every week and she generally rides by herself with no help.  It is funny to see such a small kid on such a big horse.  She is also beginning music therapy.  Her initial response has been eye watering.  I have never seen her so engaged during therapy sessions before.

The squadron has continued to be good to me.  I am getting plenty of flying and really enjoy my work.  I do not plan to look for orders until the summer of '08 or later.  We will have to make some major adjustments next July when Audrey and Ty leave for Monterey.

Thanks again for the continued support.  I'm hoping to make one trip to Virginia and one to Canada next year.  I hope to see as many of you as I can!

Sincerely,

Eric
